Petals and leaves are moulded EVA foam — soft to the touch and thick enough to hold their shape rather than crease like paper. The stems are bendable metal tubing: they arrive coiled, straighten by hand, and can be re-shaped after assembly. The base is metal and holds all three stems together. One set contains 1 base, 3 stems (100 cm, 120 cm and 140 cm) and 3 flower heads of approximately 40 cm. Assembly takes a few minutes and needs no tools — straighten each stem, slide it into a base clamp and tighten, then unfold the flower head onto the stem. The flowers are light, so on a hard floor indoors the base holds them steadily. Outdoors or in a breeze we recommend weighting the base or placing them against shelter.

The way it was packaged was surprisingly compact. I had not expected the metal tubular stems arrived in a coil format. The stems are completely bendable to obtain the required look. All the leaves and petals are made of EVA foam, so less able to bend to desired design. This giant ‘happy’ plant requires a space to showcase its size. It was easy to assemble and the pieces are extremely sturdy. Not worried about it toppling over.
